Dollhouse Bookshelf DIY – I was really eager to share a small project that my husband and I have been working for the past week. We converted this bookshelf be stuffed or bookcase for our two youngest girls for Christmas and I love how it turned out! We will add the doll house furniture and they will use it as a doll, but I think it looks so great as bookshelves for. As part DIY blogger challenge we were given our choice of three different products to change and we choose this dollhouse bookshelf plans. I had exactly what I wanted to do with it even before it arrived and I was super excited to go to work. We loosely assembled bookshelves as we decide exactly how to go about turning it into a doll house. Once we have decided on a plan of action we have to work and in just a few hours we went from this, to this.
We moved every shelf in the bookcase down a few inches so that there will be no empty space between the roof and the first rack. This is a great way to add one more level to our doll house creates some extra play space. Use wood glue and brad Spax screws or nails to attach the rack. We then use a few pieces of MDF to create the roof and in the walls of the partition and installed several shells creep that I bought at Michael to finish the roof edge. We switched out the native support of the bookcase with a sheet of wainscot panels. To save yourself some work and masking tape it off when it came to painting late, I would recommend painting rack support and separately before assembly. I can only speak from experience here.

After filling all the holes and a lot of sanding, we are ready to give a primer layer. We masked from the top shelf laminates because I think they will look cute as faux wood floors in our little doll house. We use primary KILZ and it worked great! After a few more sanding we were then ready to move on to painting. We use Rust-Oleum spray paint satin throughout the house and I’m really happy with the finish bookshelf dollhouse ideas.
We used to rack aqua, antique white and gray support for the unfinished dollhouse bookshelf. After we finished just do not look right. They laminate flooring faux I thought it would look very funny, not, and gray roof was too dark for the rest of the house so we gave it another try. After sanding down the top of the roof rack and we masked it off again and start painting. We painted antique white roof and all the shelves aqua. Was much better and I am very glad we took the time to paint even though we took longer than anticipated to complete the project because of it. After painting our accident I learned that it’s best to keep your dollhouse from a bookshelf color palette simple.

Either way it’s funny, cute, funny and painting our accident aside, it is a project that is relatively straight forward which can be put together in one week or less. Just see these DIY dollhouse bookshelf design ideas to surprise you.
